``In 2006 I conquered a bronze medal at the XCO italian championship``
I’m Samuele Porro, born in 1988 near the Lake Como, I was a track and field athlete, but after a knee surgery I started cycling as part of the recovery, as the physio said to me, but from then on I never stopped.
I finished my studies in 2007, but in 2006 I conquered a bronze medal at the XCO italian championship in the junior category and my first call in the national team for the european championships.
``I definitely decided to become a Marathon rider... ``
From 2008 to 2011 my focus was the XCO, with good results as the italian national title under23 in 2010.
During my first year in the elite category I started racing in the long distance races finding my real strength. From 2012 I definitely decided to become a Marathon rider and collected 2 national title in 2014 and 2015 and a 7th place in World Championships.
``Team 2020 is extremely competitive with the young guns...``
In 2016 I entered in the Trek family and achieved some of my best results as stage wins at the untamed Cape Epic or the bronze medal at the World Championships and silver at the European Championships, plus another 2 national titles.
Team 2020 is extremely competitive with the young guns projected towards ambitious goals in XCO fields and the “good old boys” ready to confirm ourselves in long distances races.
